Aveon Global Insurance made a statement following the earthquakes that struck Kahramanmaraş. The statement announced that relief efforts had begun after the earthquake and conveyed the message, ‘We will continue to seek ways to heal our wounds together by sticking together even more closely.’

Aveon Global Insurance made a statement following the earthquakes centred in Kahramanmaraş. The company said in its statement: "The 7.7 magnitude earthquakes centred in Kahramanmaraş on 6 February, considered one of the greatest disasters of our century, have deeply saddened us all. We acknowledge that these earthquakes, which have caused significant loss of life, injuries, and material damage, not only in our country but worldwide, are a reality of life. While accepting this reality, we must strictly adhere to the rules and regulations established by our government and scientific communities. As a company and as a nation, we have no room for excuses when it comes to fulfilling our responsibilities.”

‘WE HAVE BEGUN WORKING TO MITIGATE THE DAMAGE’

The statement also touched on the claims process, saying, "Although our company is a young insurance company, it has mobilised all its resources to launch relief efforts in the earthquake zone thanks to its strong and dynamic team and effective infrastructure. On the other hand, it has also undertaken serious efforts to mitigate the damage suffered by our agents and customers as a result of the earthquake. In this context, we have established a special call centre for the earthquake and activated our 24/7 rapid support line for our agents and customers. We have developed an ‘emergency damage management’ plan to facilitate the processing of claims and ensure swift payments. All our teams are in constant communication with all regional agents to provide technical support to our agents, and we have begun sending them new equipment, particularly computers, to replace those damaged in the earthquake. While adapting our technical operations to the new applications and rules urgently implemented by the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Authority and the Turkish Insurance Association, we have also introduced more flexible options for policyholders to track their due dates and collections. Along with these measures, we have mobilised not only the earthquake-affected region but also all other regional offices to respond to the needs of agents in the earthquake-affected area. Despite our company's Adana Regional Office remaining in the earthquake-affected area, we have established fast-paced work processes by making five regional offices, in addition to our headquarters, available to provide support."

AID IS BEING DELIVERED TO THE REGION AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE

The statement continued with the following information regarding efforts aimed at the local population: "While implementing all of these measures, we have not forgotten our efforts aimed at the entire local population. We have made our earthquake hotline available to all residents, regardless of whether they are insured or not. We have also informed the public about this through all social media and national press outlets. During this difficult period, we will continue to seek ways to heal our wounds together, without discrimination, by coming together as one. We have begun delivering our aid to the local community in coordination with the top institutions of our government and industry, including TSB and AFAD. In addition, we have quickly organised the aid requests received by our earthquake hotline without leaving any unanswered. The Aveon Earthquake Support vehicle continues its work in the earthquake zone. Our vehicle, which provides on-site services in the region, has played an important role in delivering aid to those in need as quickly as possible. In addition, we are continuing to set up our tents in the AFAD tent city in collaboration with the Women's Brands Platform. While continuing to deliver food aid to 50 children who have lost their families and homes and migrated to other provinces, we are also providing monthly food aid to families whose homes have been destroyed. We have started providing scholarships to around 30 students who are studying at universities in other cities. In addition to sending our computers to those whose workplaces were destroyed through our regional agencies, we are also mobilising our accommodation facilities for those who wish to settle in other cities. We aim to continue our food aid to earthquake victims who remain in the region and provide their own accommodation until the end of the year."

‘WE WILL REDUCE THE PAIN TOGETHER’

‘All of this may have only a drop in the ocean effect in healing the wounds of our citizens affected by the earthquake. However, we are confident that with each of us contributing our drop, we will reduce the deep pain we are experiencing together,’ the statement said. "We are well aware that it will take many years for life to return to normal in the earthquake zone and for our cities to regain their unique characteristics. So far, we have only discussed the effects of the earthquake on our people. The natural fabric of that region, the return of other living creatures to their normal life cycles, and the revival of our ancient cities, which have a history of over 4,000 years and carry traces of our past, will likely take a considerable amount of time. Our company will continue to provide every possible support for their revival and will work tirelessly to ensure that our cities, which define us through their socio-cultural richness, greet a brighter and more beautiful future.”
